Meter Pulls - Inactive Service

Due to the large number of inactive services on the water system, the Cullman County Water Department has instituted a new policy to monitor and pull inactive services.

Service connections that are not billed (inactive) for 24 consecutive billing periods will be subject to removal.

When the service is pulled for inactivity, the property owner will be responsible for any new tapping fees associated with resetting a service.

Options:

If you have an inactive service that you want to keep for future use, the easiest way to keep it is to activate the service.  The service must be active for 12 consecutive billing cycles before the service returns to an inactive status.

After the service has been pulled the property owner has 6 months from the date the service was pulled to reactivate the service at a normal activation fee. After the 6 month time period expires the property owner must pay the water service tap fee.

(When a customer pays a service tap fee they are simply paying for a tap into the water system. The actual meter remains the property of the Cullman County Water Dept. and is only used to monitor the usage of water at said service for billing purposes.
